Home of the splendid Palazzo Farnese
Farnese Palace built by Alessandro, Paul the third’s nephew , with del Vignola’s
plan on the foundations of a stronghold built by Antonio da Sangallo il Giovane .It is one
of the most precious jewels of Renaissance architecture and one of the most famous
monuments in the Tuscia both nationally and internationally speaking.
Caprarola also preserves the church of S. Maria della Consolazione as ordered by
Odoardo Farnese. It is of great architectural value. In the courtyard at Palazzo Farnese,
from June to September, there are Renaissance music concerts (by order of the
Farnese).
