| The presence of the Farnese in
Nepi’s history is proved by the numerous works of art carried out by Antonio da
Sangallo il Giovane. Among them the imposing strongholds created to defend the
built up area as wished for by the Duke Pier Luigi. As for the land through which the Via
Armenia runs, it is rich in suggestive historic memories: Etruscan -Roman necroplis, the
remains of an Amphitheatre, the Gracchi Thermal Baths and the Santa
Savinilla Catacombs. Guided tours, even on horseback enable the tourist to visit this
