| The town, stretched out at the
slopes of the Cimini Mountains, has an agricultural economy that is aided by the ceramics
industry. In 1539 the centre entered the Farnese familys range with Pier Luigi , who
apart from acquiring the land surrounding Fabrica, also acquired the estate at Falleri. To
this day the remains of the built up Roman area of Falerii Novi can be admired, with its
well preserved walls that have numerous towers inserted in them and the beautiful
Romanesque church, S. Maria of Falleri. In the historic centre of Fabrica, in
Duomo square, stands the Palazzo Castello, which belonged to the Farnese family for
over a century (1539 -1649). During this period the fortified building was transformed
into a residence. Index |
