A great tourist centre due to a beautiful lakeside
beach.
It is dominated by the sixteenth century Rocca Farnese (Farnese stronghold).
From the small port there are boat trips to the nearby Bisentine Island, where
there is a church that was designed by Antonio da Sangallo and that was completed by
Vignola, by the order of Cardinal Alessandro Farnese. It guards the tomb of Ranuccio
Farnese, one of the founders of Farnesian prestige in the Tuscia . On the island itself
classical music concerts are held (on certain occasions the guests are invited to dine by
candle light in the park) and from June to September Renaissance music concerts are held
(work of the Farnese), organised by the Musical Experimentation Centre.
