FARNESE
The town that gave its name to
the family, has within the Palazzo Comunale a prehistoric archaeological Museum and
the remains of a Rocca Fanese (Farnese stronghold) from which there is an imposing
arched tunnel that was a means of communication with the nearby park. On the outskirts is
the Parco Naturalistico del Lamone (the Natural Park of Lamone -
guided tours are
possible) that has particular environmental points of interest and the remains of Etruscan
and Apennine civilisations.
